Don’t tap out now! Real-life investor stories to help you stay in the ring and keep fighting 😤

Know this: hardly anything about property investing is linear and predictable. Sure, the market knocks you every now and then. But if you develop strategies to recover from setbacks better and stronger than before, you will stand a mighty good chance at enjoying the rewards of property investment.

This meeting celebrates real-life stories of resilience, gumption and steadfast persistence. It’s about helping you roll with the punches while keeping your eyes on the prize. Our speakers will share with you how they take setbacks on the chin, learn from the experience and become better investors.

Speakers

Shaun McGivern, investor and principal at Haigh Lyon Lawyers – In addition to being a property lawyer, Shaun is also a property investor with over 22 years of experience under his below. He will share his experience recovering from meth contamination at his rental properties, dealing with and moving on from difficult tenants, riding out building delays and other incredible stories of setbacks and recovery he sees from his investor clients.

Roger Matheson, investor and director of Chic Property Management – Roger has been an investor for over 23 years and a professional property manager for much of that time. He has experienced and developed strategies to bounce back from various tenancy and property issues such as drug dealing, ceiling fire, a blown-off house roof and significant water leaks.

Therese Bisquera, investor, civil servant and APIA board member – Having been bitten by the property bug early on, Therese started her investment journey in 2015. Hers is a measured strategy involving extended family members and out-of-town properties. Being more collaborative in her approach, Therese’s stories will orientate around relationship and trust building.
