Presentation by Sarina Gibbon, APIA
It’s been nearly a year since the Office of the Privacy Commissioner overhauled its rental sector privacy guidance and launched its compliance monitoring programme alongside it. We look at how landlords and property managers have been faring so far in the new compliance regime, address common failures + easy fixes and discuss Consumer NZ’s report (to be released in September 2022) on the sector’s privacy performance.
Topics to cover
- OPC monitoring activities so far and how they will likely evolve going forward;
- The general standard of privacy compliance observed across the sector;
- Common compliance pain points/failures observed so far + easy fixes; and
- Addressing common misconceptions and erroneous interpretations of OPC guidance.
Speaker
Sarina is the general manager of the APIA.
