Interest limitation and bright-line extension straight from the horse’s mouth 🐴

Given legislative sluggishness, there are still several outstanding questions investors have about the would-be rules to do with interest limitation and bright-line extension.

In the first of our two-part presentation series with the IRD to do with this matter, we are very excited to feature Rata Kamau who will give a broad overview of the new rules, what taxpayers can expect in terms of their applications and IRD support for compliance.

Part two of the series will take place in late April/early May after these changes formally become law.

Session topics
  • Overview of interest limitation and bright-line extension (including exemptions and phasing) + key messages for property investors;
  • Expected legislative timeframe and more details on the backdating of compliance;
  • New tax return format + support and tools for taxpayers.
Speakers

Rata is an IR relationship manager for property investors’ associations around the country.
