Presentation by Rene McLean, Property InDepth

Hey! Your next JV partner could be nearer than you think!

We’ve arranged for long-time buy/build-and-hold investor Rene McLean to give a virtual show-and-tell for his latest Howick development project, which has the dual aim of maximising the utilities and returns of the existing properties as well as adding to the housing supply properties that are easy to maintain.

Rene is doing this particular project in partnership with a neighbour in order so that each developer ends up with one old unit and two new units on a 400sqm site. The building of the four three-level three-bedroom terrace homes is near completion and we are grateful to Rene for giving APIA members a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes details to inspire future development activities.

Topics to cover
  • Development objectives and project goals;
  • How to incorporate the existing property into the design and strategy of the new development project;
  • Insights and reflections on working with a business partner who is also a neighbour;
  • Project challenges, workarounds and solutions.
Speaker

In addition to being a seasoned property investor, Rene is also a respected property valuer from PropertyInDepth.
