Presentation by Andrew Bruce

Given that the draft legislative proposals for interest limitation have created a ‘tax incentive’ for landlords to enter into the emergency, transitional, social and council housing, we think it is important for landlords to understand the trade-offs, opportunities and risks associated with these types of tenancies in order to make balanced and informed decisions going forward.

To that end, we are very glad for the return of Andrew Bruce to share his experience interacting with social housing agencies and transitional housing tenants.

Session topics
  • Opportunities and trade-offs from a big-picture point of view;

  • The day-to-day minutiae that are different from an ordinary tenancy;

  • Tips for landlords who are considering social/community housing arrangements for the first time.

Speaker

Andrew is a full-time property investor and served as president of the APIA between 2014 and 2020.
